Women's Value

In the mid-90’s nearly 40 years ago, I read the book, A Woman’s Worth by Marianne Williamson. It changed my perspective on who we are as women, how we are treated, what we think and feel about ourselves, and especially how we treat ourselves. Reading it required me to think about MY value – to myself and to others – for the first time in my life.

Enlightened, I have recommended the book to all of my student advisees and women I have counseled and coached. What did I learn?

1. We are the trendsetters who present the qualities and characteristics of respect and appreciation of our self-worth.
2. We require others to treat us like the queens who we are.

My grandmothers’ and my mother’s examples taught me that women must be treated with respect, care, love, kindness, and compassion. We are beautiful, delicate flowers and bright, shining jewels. As human beings blessed with the greatest gift – the ability to bring life into the world - No one and no thing, with the exception of God's love, compares to a mother’s love. NO ONE. NO THING. Our greatest, incomparable and unequal value is our ability to nurture our offspring and those whom we love. PRICELESS.

Act like you know.
